Cocooning time is no time to laze around. This is not the time to wander around, binge series on Netflix, mindless social media surfing or WhatsApp gossip. This is the time to cocoon, which means to upgrade and enhance. The best use of the cocooning time is all about being productive. Of course, there is a lot of time to relax, however, not getting into mindless activities. Having a schedule is the most important thing. How do you make this schedule, well we will help you with some insights! Here are five easy ways that one can implement to be productive.

  1. Keep it simple
    The first thing to make it work is its simplicity. It’s easy to underestimate the power of simplicity. However, it’s the hidden driving force behind peak productivity. It’s the first thing. K.I.S.S. – as they
    say; Keep It Simple and Stupid.
    There’s no need for an overwhelming to-do list of things to get done. Keep it simple but ruthlessly focused on the essential and highly effective activities only.
  2. Go to bed and wake up at the same time each day
    One of the most popular mantras for not just for productivity but success has been “early to bed and early to rise makes a man healthy, wealthy, and wise.” It is one of those golden nuggets passed on from wiser generations and still stands true.
    For instance, wake up early at 5 am and go to bed early at 10 pm, for a total of 7 hours of sleep each night. This takes good care of your time and scheduling becomes easy.
    It’s important to note however, that what matters most isn’t the time you go to bed or wake up, it’s the consistency of your sleep schedule. You may have your choice of time to sleep and wake up next time, consistency is the key here. By going to bed and waking up at the same time each day, you’ll undoubtedly train your brain to fall asleep faster and improve the quality of your sleep.
  3. Spend quiet time alone
    What do you do once you get up is important. That is the golden hour, to be invested only in golden activities. Shortly after waking up if you can; you must address “Powerful Goodness.” In other words, spend some time in prayer or meditation.
    This daily habit of solitude gives us the much-needed clarity and focus to plan the day, and follow through on our plans. Prayer, in any form will get order in your life. That order will hike your productivity.
  4. Set your intention and plan for the day
    Each morning, before kicking off work, it would be a good idea to set an intention for the day with an important question: What good shall I do this day?
    Setting an intention and creating a plan of action each morning, ensures that you stay focused on your most important task and avoid getting easily distracted by the other people during the day.
    If possible pick a virtue to focus on. It can be any virtue – happiness, gratitude, love, empathy, sharing, respect – just anything. Make it a point to stick to the selected virtue all day. It will not be anything less than magic!!
  5. Dedicate time to learning
    The best thing to do while we cocoon, isn’t it? In the daily schedule, set aside some time to spend on an independent personal project separate from work. It is about personal development, not just professional development. Of course, the benefit is eventually extended to the work arena as well. Most likely, this would’ve been time spent reading either books or papers. Alternatively, you could spend this time learning a language, playing an instrument or on your hobbies.

Implement this and see the sea change in your day. You would have a lot of spare time to relax and chill and yet being able to do your task in time and effectively.
