International Men’s Day

Men most of the times have been not so concerned about their appearance, the way they conduct themselves. The focus mostly has been on the work arena and not otherwise. However; with changing times and the globalization, the modern men are seen taking a fair interest in the way they present themselves.

Glad we have a dedicated day, 19th of November; celebrated as International Men’s day. To mark the celebration of the same, for those who care and also those who don’t care so much about this, here are some handy, basic yet essential tips that a stylish man would not want to miss on.

Being head turner, after all, isn’t reserved for women, it’s for the men too!

  • Be a Gentleman!!

God made man and the tailor-made gentleman!! Rightly said. Who you are and what you stand for is best conveyed through the way you present yourself. You may not be inclined to be a head turner, but being presentable and having a pleasing presence is definitely an influencing factor.

  • Have two nice white shirts

They will make life easy. They are the basic-staple that add to the style as well. Be sure they’re free of stains and wrinkles, ready to go at all times. They go with everything. They are apt for formal as well as informal occasions. The white shirt gives you a fresh informal look against a completely casual look.

  • Brown or black leather — pick one

They don’t all have to be identical shades, but you shouldn’t be rocking a black watchband with a brown belt or anything like that. It is a safe choice to start with black bottom when you are initiating the work wardrobe.

  • You want people to notice your face

Wear clothes that guide the eye upward to your face. In business occasions, the attention on the face is what you want. No wonder the classic menswear is all collared. Collars frame your face and hold the attention. For the informal occasions opt for the polo as against going collarless.

  • Facial hair needs to look deliberate

The beard look is a big in thing now. You can have a full beard if you really want one, but shape the edges with a razor so that it doesn’t look like you’ve just let it grow. You want people to think you’re making a statement, not being lazy.

  • Pamper your skin

Skin care is not vanity. Guys, please understand it’s not a girlie business to take care of your skin. Get some good skin cream and use it. Find the product that solves your particular problems, whether that’s oily skin, dry skin, or something else.

  • Keep yourself well-groomed

Trim your nails, shave regularly and with care. A raggedy body under nice clothes looks gross. You want to look well-maintained. Looking put together is what makes an impact.

  • Clean your wallet out regularly

The slimmer it is, the less wear and tear on both the wallet and the pocket it’s shoved into. It’ll also look nicer when you pull it out to pay for things. Make an effort that your wallet does not blow out with things stuffed in. Time to go digital!!

  • Your cell phone your statement these days

Get a case, and make that case something that works with your basic tastes. A slim case is a good choice. The less of a bulge in your pockets, the better.

  • Sometimes less is more

Well, most of the times. A couple of plain, dark solid pieces with one bright accent can do more than a flashy, patterned suit or shirt. Same is with accessories.

  • Casual leather shoes make any everyday outfit look more stylish

Last thing you wear and the first thing people notice. Have some good brogues, saddle shoes, or loafers for your day-to-day get-ups.
